ASNT President - Ricky Morgan Ricky L. Morgan, ASNT PRESIDENT “ASNT continues to be in a good place,” says Ricky L. Morgan President. He acknowledges the significance of the Society being on sound fiscal footing during the current economic environment and the role that the strategic vision has in providing ASNT a clear direction. He recognizes the impact of a membership which continues to grow at a rate not seen in recent history. He also sees the challenges ASNT faces while working through Web site development, training alternatives, committee and section involvement alternatives, workforce development, certification development and harmonization, and the implementation of emerging technologies. Morgan believes that for ASNT to continue its relevance, domestically and abroad, and to promote the importance of NDT to society, the Board and staff have to work with members and associated societies. Morgan explains that with the right leadership, ASNT is well positioned to handle these challenges. Knowing that no one person alone can lead an organization as diverse as ASNT, he wants to help lead ASNT into the future and is honored to serve as the President in this crucial time. Morgan has been employed with Smith-Emery Company in A member since 1987, Morgan has been very active in ASNT. Having served as the Vice President this past year, he sights the invaluable experience gained regarding the Society’s fiscal and governance needs. He’s met with and continues correspondence with many of our sister societies internationally. He looks forward to furthering those relationships throughout his terms as President and Chair. He looks forward to meeting with industry stakeholders to enhance relationships and implementation of NDT processes. Morgan has received the ASNT Lou De Valerio Technician of the Award in 1998, ASNT Fellow Award in 2003 and ASNT Mentoring Award in 2009 for his Contributions to the Society and its Members Morgan also holds memberships in the American Welding Society, American Institute of Steel Construction, International Code Council, California Coalition for Professional Construction Inspectors and the American Legion. Together, he believes, we will create a safer world.
